Azerbaijan Visa for Hungary Citizens
Hungarian citizens are eligible to apply for Azerbaijan online e-visa. It is a single-entry, short-term stay permit that allows you to remain in the country for a period of 30 days. The visa will have a validity period of 90 days.

The Republic of Azerbaijan introduced its electronic visa category in January 2017, allowing citizens of over 90 countries to obtain a visa right from the comfort of their homes. Applying for Azerbaijan e-Visa
Azerbaijan e-visa process is exceptionally user-friendly. You need to complete a visa application form, which is just like the standard visa form. You will enter personal details such as full name, surname, date of birth, gender/age, nationality, occupation, residential address, email address, and contact number. In the next section, you will enter passport-related details, including passport number, country of issuance, date of issuance, expiry date, etc. If you are a dual national, choose one of the two passports and use the information on its biography page to fill out the personal and passport data in your Azerbaijan e-visa form.
There will be a section on travel history and the Azerbaijan visit itinerary. In this section, you will type in the date of your arrival in Azerbaijan, the purpose of your visits, such as medical treatment, tourism, or business, and a bit about your recent travelling endeavours (if any).
Paying the Visa Processing Fees
Every traveller wishing to apply for Azerbaijan e-Visa must pay visa processing fees when applying online. The Azerbaijan visa fee payment process will be conducted entirely online via a secure payment gateway. The applicant must have access to an international debit/credit card to make the payment, or else, they can use a PayPal account for this purpose. The visa application process will not continue any further if you fail to make the payment. Currently, you can select between three visa processing options, including the following:
- Standard Processing- Visa will be processed Within 3 - 5 Working Days and will No additional cost
- Rush Processing- Visa will be processed Within 1 - 3 Working Days and will cost 59 USD
- Super Rush Processing- Visa will be processed Within 3 - 6 Hours and will cost 99 USD
Points to Remember
- Make sure that your passport is valid for three months after you depart from Azerbaijan or six months, which should start from the date of your arrival in the country; otherwise, your visa application will be rejected.
- You cannot visit Nagorno-Karabakh or other regions of Azerbaijan that the Republic of Armenia currently occupies since 1991. It is against Azerbaijan law to visit these disputed regions, and you will be declared a violator of local law if you visit them. This may result in a permanent or temporary entry ban and/or a hefty fine.
- The e-Visa will become invalid if not used within its 90-day validity period.
- Hungary citizens won’t require a visa to leave the international transit area.
- You must obtain a visa before you arrive in Azerbaijan because the visa on arrival facility is no longer active for Hungary citizens.
E-Visa Documentation Requirements
Before submitting an online application form, eligible Hungarian citizens are required to produce digital copies of certain documents, which include:
- A digital copy of a valid passport.
- Means of payment- a debit or credit card
- Passport size photograph no more than six months old
You must also provide a current email address to receive the approved e-Visa and other updates/notifications about the e-Visa status. In addition to this, travellers must provide the accommodation address where they will be staying while in Azerbaijan.
Entry Requirements

Please Note: The government of Azerbaijan has updated the COVID-19 travel restrictions for entering Azerbaijan. Travelers no longer need to submit a negative test result to enter and apply for a visa.
Previously, The Azerbaijan government has released updated information about the travel restrictions for Hungarian citizens. Every traveller from Hungary must provide a negative COVID-19 test result in order to enter Azerbaijan. Though quarantine is not mandatory for all travellers, some may have to self-isolate for fourteen days starting from their arrival in Azerbaijan.
After six days, a PCR test will be taken, and if the result is negative, their quarantine will be shortened. It must be noted that the test will be taken at the traveller’s expense. Upon arrival, all travellers will be subject to COVID-19 testing and those who display coronavirus symptoms will be dispatched to the airport’s medical facility for further testing.
Visa Extension
Please note that it is impossible to extend the validity of your ASAN visa while you are staying in Azerbaijan. The e-Visa validity is 90 days, but the traveller cannot stay for more than 30 days on a single trip. In case you want to extend your stay, you can apply only after departing from Azerbaijan. This rule applies to a stateless person as well.

What should I do if my e-Visa application is rejected?
If you approve or reject your application, you can re-apply for a visa at your closest Azerbaijan diplomatic representation, such as a consulate or embassy.
Can I seek employment in Azerbaijan with an e-Visa?
You cannot apply for a paid job or find work in Azerbaijan while visiting the country on an e-Visa. If you want to work as a paid employee in Azerbaijan, you must apply for a work permit through an embassy.

The purpose of the stay category is essential to be filled when completing the visa application form. It helps the visa officials to decide about accepting or rejecting your application.
